Bill Maher: liberated by pay TV

Slightly NSFW for language, but Bill Maher's take on the Barack Obama flag pin "scandal" is dead on. Relevant portion begins around 3:00. Otherwise, you can read his comments here.

I understand and agree with his point that symbolism over substance shouldn't take precedence.

But isn't it a little telling if liberals like Bill say and believe things like "show me a man wearing a flag pin and I'll show you an asshole" AND "when I see someone wearing a flag pin the first thing I think is, you voted for and still like, George Bush."

Doesn't that say something about liberals? That they would NEVER be caught displaying any sort of affection for American, it's principles and ideals.

I'm sure there are plenty of people, Republican or Democrat, some who don't like George Bush, that wear the flag pin because they simply love their country.

I don't really care whether Obama wears one. It is immaterial. But as usual, Bill Maher was condescending, demeaning and insulting in trying to make his point.
