What we learned tonight: Gary's May-ah is a Play-ah

Based on his stellar television interviews tonight, the whole world now knows that the mayor of Gary, Indiana, Rudy Clay, is a complete and total idiot. Seriously, buddy, counting votes is easy. People vote on a computer. You ask the computer to spit out results. Ta-da!

It's guys like Rudy Clay that make me worry about voter fraud. Not that there are a bunch of people voting illegally, but that we've got some of the world's biggest morons trying to count the votes. How is it that nobody else had problems counting absentee and early ballots, except for the people who inhabit the great industrial armpit of the Midwest?

Then again, what should Gary expect from a mayor whose nickname is "the pimp"?

More good stuff here.

I have to say that I have never seen such an idiot. Watching him on CNN laughing at the likes of Wolf Blitzer and Jon King because they kept asking him the same questions- albeit using different phraseology- and thinking that they would accept such dumb answers to their simple questions. If the people of Gary IN have a modicum of self respect they'll get rid of this guy ASAP. What an embarrassment. It sounded like he was high or drunk or both. And what's with the weird 70's look? He's like an extra from the set of Shaft.

It is probably not correct to say that Rudy Clay "controls the process" in voting in Lake County.
He is a Mayor of a decent size city but the county would do the vote counting. He would have more oversight as the chair of the Lake County Democrats than he would as Mayor.
I'm not defending the fact that he sounds like a real doofus but don't make it seem so easy to set an election.
Calling the poll workers idiots is not really fair either. These people get paid so little that you may as well call them volunteers. They come from both sides of the fence and are doublechecked by even more diverse county officials.

I actually believe that computer voting would be easier to tamper with. One person can reset the program or dump ballots much easier. If you want to know who really controls the counting, look to the County Clerks office.

moveforward has a good point on this one, RS. You're slippin'. Usually your observation and commentary aren't so shallow but you've been really superficial lately. Are you too wrapped up in your love of McCain/dislike of Obama?

I love it that when I criticize Republicans, it's deep and meaningful and liberals love me. And when I criticize idiot liberals like Gary's mayor, I'm apparently being superficial.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to get ballots counted. Everyone else in Indiana managed to do it in a timely fashion, except in Lake County. So yes, I think it is fair for me to conclude that the election officials in Lake County are a bunch of monkeys. And the mayor of Gary is an idiot - that much was plain to anyone who heard him speak.

Then again, I've driven through Gary. I shouldn't be surprised that's what Gary puts in office.
