I don't disagree with your main point. Maybe there'll be payback someday. But today, in the end, Decker got everyone's vote but Carpenter's.
Indeed, to his credit and to their credit, they got nearly all the skeptics on board. Took some doing, but your point rings true. Let's contrast that performance to what happens tomorrow, where Mike Huebsch has apparently lost the vote of his own Majority Leader and may get even fewer members of his caucus on board than the did during the budget.
