Interesting article in the Green Bay Press-Gazette today. It's titled "Area schools named among best." But then you read the following:
Hahaha! "...the following 25 percent of liberal colleges after the top 50 percent." Yeah, because saying "the top half of the bottom half" just doesn't quite have the same positive ring to it.
So St. Norbert is in the third quartile, and UWGB is scraping the bottom of the barrel, rubbing shoulders with UW-Parkside. I guess that doesn't count all the unranked schools they probably whipped, like DeVry and the University of Phoenix. Congratulations to St. Norbert and UWGB, I think. Way to go.
(For those wondering, UW-Madison is 35th among national universities - in other words, real schools - and Marquette is 77th. Considering one pays four times more to go to Marquette as an in-state undergraduate, one can safely say that Marquette is still sponging up UW-Madison's sloppy Catholic seconds.)
St. Norbert College appeared on the third tier of (U.S. News & World Report's) liberal college listings. The tier, which is not ranked numerically, represents the following 25 percent of liberal colleges after the top 50 percent...
UWGB appeared on the ranking's fourth tier, the bottom 25 percent of schools in this category.

One of the most elitist and uninformed posts I have read.
Please elaborate.
