"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell
I've gotta say, The Golden Girls might is just be, pound for pound, the most subversive sit-com ever made.Removed from any YouTube clips or other context, if you sit back and think about the show you're likely to think "Oh, yeah, the show with the old ladies doing funny things," but when you look back on it the creators of that show just did not hold back. (Though, I guess, in a way, that was one of the brilliant conceits of the show: "old fashioned" gals trying to make sense of the modern world and discovering that they really aren't as old fashioned as everyone thinks they are, etc.)I would love to be able to look back on America's Next Top Karaoke Host 20+ years from now and think, "Damn, that was edgy," but who am I kidding?
